A. The process of identifying cost containment opportunities begins with Intelimedix’s deep understanding of medical and pharmaceutical claims. We combine our years of Health Plan experience with geographically diverse, multi-plan collaboration teams to detect trends in the industry. Intelimedix is able to take the latest experience with inappropriate payments, overlapping coverage, incorrect billing, and suspicious claim patterns to rapidly test and deploy solutions to help its customers recover millions of dollars.

Q. Can Intelimedix identify new patterns of fraud and abuse?

A. One component of our Tru:Beacon solution is a set of statistically rigorous predictive models that evaluate claim patterns to identify aberrant and costly providers and members. Using these models, we can detect and act upon unforeseen abuses and schemes.

Q. As an Intelimedix customer, do I need to pursue the collection of inappropriate payments myself?

A. No. For some customers, Intelimedix supports internal SIUs or Claims Recovery Units. Intelimedix also can provide end-to-end service by identifying, pursuing, and recovering fraudulent payments and inappropriate claims.

Q. Can Intelimedix’s Tru:Beacon operate in pre-payment mode?

A. We are developing a post-adjudication, pre-payment mode for Tru:Beacon to allow Health Plans to preclude the Pay-and-Chase cycle and stop inappropriate and fraudulent claim payments. Visit our Web site often for exciting news on this expanded capability in the near future.

Q. How do you aggregate data?

A. Disparate data sources are standardized to present a single integrated view of the data. In addition, custom data quality checks are performed when loading data to deliver quality data output through reporting.

Q. How do you ensure my data is protected?

A. Information from clients is installed on a separate environment with data-firewalled DMZ. Our HIPAA-secured data center is SAS 70 certified. Any data field can be encrypted in the data warehouse when loaded, and only specific users can be granted access to decrypt that data.  Intelimedix logs all decryption events and requires users to enter a reason for access.
